One’s A Slut & One’s a Stud

As a college student, it seems like sex is almost always a topic of discussion among me and my peers. I’ve lost count of the amount of “hook-up” stories I’ve overheard while trying to eat my buffalo mash in the dining hall. I feel like a college campus is one of the few places in the world where sex (and other related things) are talked about just as casually as the weather, and I think that’s pretty cool. I mean after all, sex is a biological need experienced by almost all humans, so why not talk about it? However, I’ve noticed a trend surrounding this topic.

While snapchatting one of my good guy friends last night, he told me that him and his roommates have decided to turn this biological need into a little game. They plan to keep track of how much “action” each of them is getting throughout the next school year. Whoever gets the most action, wins! Their plan didn’t phase me because it wasn’t even the first time this week that I had heard of college guys doing that. In my mind, “sex” and “college guys” just go together naturally, and that got me thinking.

If we almost all have this same biological need, why the hell does our society choose to look at a woman’s sexual history differently than they would for a man? I’m sure if a woman posted about playing this same “game” with her roommates next year, she’d at least receive a few eye rolls, and maybe even a couple sexist comments about how she should act like a “lady”. Most guys my age will proudly boast their body count (how many people they’ve slept with), but I’ve found that it’s so taboo for girls to discuss theirs, even with some of their best friends. So why are men praised for gettin’ some, while women are told to close their mouth and their legs?

It upsets me that it’s now 2020 and slut-shaming is still so prevalent. Is it really so wrong for someone to satisfy their needs?! I sure as hell don’t think so! So ladies (or anyone who has ever felt shamed for fulfilling their sexual desires), I have some advice for you:
F*CK EM’! F*CK WHOEVER YOU WANT TO F*CK, AND F*CK WHOEVER HAS SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT IT! It’s YOUR life, and YOUR body, and you have the right to do whatever the F*CK you want to do with it!
