Today when I was scrolling through articles on the awesome feminist website/blog Jezebel, I came across a beauty. The first line of the short article stated, “Federal judge in Virginia struck down the state’s gay-marriage ban” and instantly I was drawn in.
“‘Gay and lesbian individuals share the same capacity as heterosexual individuals to form, preserve and celebrate loving, intimate and lasting relationships,’ wrote U.S. District Judge Arenda L. …’Such relationships are created through the exercise of sacred, personal choices—choices, like the choices made by every other citizen, that must be free from unwarranted government interference.'”
Simply put: How awesome is that? A U.S. federal judge agrees that not accepting or allowing gay-marriage deprives those citizens of basic human rights;the pursuit of happiness and the freedom to choose.
In my opinion we need more judges, nation wide, who are on the same page as U.S. District Judge Arenda to ensure freedom and justice for all.
Do you agree?

I definitely agree! This is awesome step in the right direction for our state. After hearing this news though, I was left to wonder what’s next for Virginia in the process of legalizing/recognizing gay marriage.
