Calling all writers, advocates, and feminist leaders! ShoutOut is now accepting applications for next semester, Fall 2018! If you are interested in learning more about current feminist issues, polishing your online advocacy skills, or building up your writing portfolio then check out our application here. ShoutOut not only provides students at JMU with a wonderful platform to voice their opinions, concerns and calls-to-action it’s also a great way to fulfill those elective requirements! That’s right, we’re talking real-time SCOM 301/WGS 492 course credit.
As someone who has been involved with ShoutOut over the course of several years, I could go on and on about the incredible lessons learned and opportunities I was given through this class. From weekly Newsroom updates to feminist events like V-Day and NYFLC, the benefits of being a member of ShoutOut are immeasurable. Applications for our blogger, editor and social media director positions are open today and welcome for all students, no matter your major, to apply. You do not need to have previous experience with Shout Out to be a co-editor or social media director–we welcome all experiences!
