Life moves fast. Real fast. Yet, I am someone who likes to move slow. I like to seek the voices that are drowned out and listen. Sometimes it just takes one moment of stillness to know you are heard. In a world that is always on the run, always changing, always fighting to be on top, I want to help those out there know they are loved. I want them to know they can slow down. I want them to know there is peace in stillness and beauty in their story.

Heyyy, baes! I’m slipp3ryd0lphin and I use she/her/hers pronouns. I’m a Scorpio, and I love sunsets and sunrises, art, all types of music, lifting heavy weights, and spending time with the people I love. I’m a Political Science major with a WGSS minor and am super excited to be writing for y’all this semester! I am not the most outspoken person you will meet, but when I’m passionate about something, you will know it! Raising awareness about social issues is something I hope to do with my career, and I’d love to start some of that here.

I’m still learning what it means to be a feminist. My goal is to learn as well as educate with what I learn, and I am so excited to do this in a safe, progressive space. I am most interested in examining women’s experiences within feminism, but also recognize its intersectionality and the importance of feminism in regard to all identities. I’m looking forward to participating in this community!

If there is one thing you need to know about me it’s that I love to read. I have well over 500 books and the collection is only continuing to grow. It is in this collection that I found my love of words. I love the ability they have to communicate complex thoughts and ideas. They give you the ability to express yourself and call out the injustice that exists in the world. This semester, I hope to use my words to make a difference.

Hiiii, guys! I’m so excited to be joining ShoutOut! JMU. I am a sophomore Communication Studies major, minoring in Marketing. I’m a huge extrovert and love to go out as much as possible. I have raging ADHD which means I never stop talking. TikTok is my guilty pleasure, I enjoy listening to everyone’s different perspectives, and I learn new things on the app everyday. I have so many interesting topics to talk about and I’m eager to share them with y’all!!

I’m into fashion, painting nails, makeup, and trends, so pretty much everything “girly girly.” My friends and family are what means the most to me. You can catch me daydreaming in my own world about the future and what it holds for me. I like looking at the glass half full, particularly a glass of iced coffee from Starbucks. I love staying active and keeping busy throughout the day, but when the laziness kicks in it’s time for a nap.

I am here to learn, expand on feminist perspectives and participate in discourse surrounding feminist topics. As my handle obviously suggests, I am a lover of cats and jazz cabbage, and less obviously I am a lover of ice lattes, sunsets, Taylor Swift, Mario Kart, ice cream and sauvignon blanc.

Hello everyone!! I’m retiredemohoe, one of the new bloggers for this semester. I am so excited to be writing for ShoutOut! JMU, and I feel super honored to be a voice for the feminist movement here at JMU. I am a junior Public Policy and Administration major, so, basically, I’m one of those people who thinks they know what is best for the world. Really, though, I’m someone who spends most of her time making extensive Spotify playlists, writing silly little poems, and of course, complaining to their therapist about life. Hello! My name is Birriatacoenthusiast, and if you couldn’t tell already, I love birria tacos. I’m a senior communication major here at JMU and I’m a transfer student. I love hanging out with my friends and roommates on weeknights and or weekends doing random activities. I’m not a huge partier but I thoroughly enjoy going out for food and drinks literally whenever. I love pets, I have a dog and cat back home, but am so lucky to have a roommate who has a cat at my apartment here in Harrisonburg!

I am very introverted, so I like staying in and watching tv or movies. My favorite thing to do is go to the beach or drive around listening to music. I am very close to my family and am obsessed with my dog, so I love going home as often as possible. When I hang out with my friends, I love doing relaxing activities like shopping, getting our nails done, and getting coffee. I am a very bubbly and happy person who loves going with the flow.

Hey, everyone! I am a senior here at JMU who is majoring in communication studies with a concentration in public relations. When I am not doing schoolwork, you will probably find me binge reading a murder mystery novel, taking a fitness class at UREC, or rewatching Modern Family for the 50th time. I love caffeine and have to drink it at least once a day to actually be able to properly function. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to learn more about feminism and express my inner thoughts while doing it!
