Quick Hit: Ellen Page at Time to THRIVE!

So yesterday, on V-DAY, the awesome Ellen Page (actress from the movies Juno & Inception) made a speech at Time to THRIVE, an LGBTQ forum going on in Nevada. Without spoiling anything… she kicks some major ass and talks about her view on issues going on today with gender and the ideas behind “social hegemonic hatred.”

In my eyes she really brings into focus the social contract (love one another for who you are) and the idea of paying forward that love- ultimately how we need to fight back against the social construct that beats down those who don’t fit the perfect norm. She talks about the body, and about finding comfort in one’s own skin. It really rings true in my ears and is damn powerful… definitely worth the short 9 minute watch to, you know, make your day.
