Hey ShoutOut! readers! The Planned Parenthood of Charlottesville, VA is offering a fantastic internship opportunity from this March to October. The internship is their “Civic Engagement Internship” (click the link for all of the information) and is a great chance to build your resume and help out an amazing women’s rights organization. In the wake of Susan G. Komen pulling their funding of Planned Parenthood, and then restoring their funding (yay!), and unnecessary political investigations of Planned Parenthood, and constant attacks by the right, doing an internship like this is a great way to show your support for this organization.
In the internship, you would register and mobilize voters, recruit and train volunteers, ensure compliance with Virginia voter registration laws, collect and enter data, assist and manage volunteer events, research and draft memos, work with social media, and a lot more.
If you’re interested in this position, please submit resume with cover letter to Tanya Semones at tanya.semones@pphsinc.org or mail to Planned Parenthood, Attn: Tanya Semones, 2207 Peters Creek Rd. Roanoke, VA 24017. No calls please.
Also, ya’ll should check out their blog: Country Fried Choice which discusses reproductive justice issues in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina! (Edited at 4:06 p.m. to reflect the scope of the area that Country Fried Choice writes about).
