Going along with our sexual assaults at JMU, I now see that these behaviors towards women aren’t really much of anything, especially since she was only inappropriately touched, nothing more. Molesting a female is a simple assault. Now, I don’t know much of the legal language and why they choose certain words to define offenses. But if I were to find synonyms to the word “simple,” there are some of the words I get: easy, uncomplicated, painless, & accessible.
So, it is easy for uncomplicated offenders to be accessible to females bodies since the offender will feel no pain from the law enforcement since it was just a “simple assault.”
Damn, can you tell I was pissed when I got that email. My bad.

I actually just logged on to post this! Seriously, that was my exact reaction. Why not categorize it as sexual assault if that’s what it is? Grabbing a girl “inappropriately from behind” is called SEXUAL assault, JMU. Why not call it that in the fucking email?

I had the same reaction when I read that. I thought it was going to be a fight or something and then it said that a 30-40 year old man molested a freshman at our college and they labeled it a “simple assault”…I vomited a little.
