Quick Hit: Feminist Poetry for National Poetry Month

Did you know April is National Poetry Month? To celebrate, Ms. Magazine has chosen five pieces by feminist poets to feature each week for the whole month. If you are like me, you probably enjoy both poetry and feminism, so you should totally check these out.

  1. “The Hawk” by Verónica Reyes
  2. “Rose and Snow Tell the Field Their Troubles” by Jenny Factor
  3. “Invisibility Terror: a prose poem” by Cheryl Clarke
  4. Selection from “Fleet of Nouns” by Sina Queyras

The fifth and final poem will be posted next week as April comes to an end, so if you’re a fan of any of these poems definitely make sure not to miss out on next week’s, I know I won’t!

  1. Thanks for posting about this! I’ve been looking for more poets to get into. I especially loved Jenny Factor and Sina Queyras.

  2. Yay, I’m glad you enjoyed them. I really enjoy poetry but it’s sometimes difficult to find stuff that isn’t just slam poetry so I was excited to find this.
