The “Lies” of Feminism: Mythbusting Monday…or were we tricked all along

While on the phone with a fellow feminist to think of a myth to bust- we ran into some troubles.  We came across this website and were floored. We sought to find myths about feminism and we found that “feminism is a myth itself.” Though we believe and know what is true, we found this site to not hold the same truths.

We were shocked that these myths are against everything of which is true about feminism.  If these are supposedly true, me and my fellow colleagues in Women’s Studies have wasted our last 4 years on nothing.  But, I know that is not true.

By the way, we found this website by googling “myths about feminism,” and this was the second link we found.  Followed are some examples along with the link to the entire website:

The Ten Most Common Feminist Myths:

1. Myth: One in four women in college has been the victim of rape or attempted rape.

9. Myth: Gender is a social construction.

10. Myth: Women’s Studies Departments empowered women and gave them a voice in the academy.
