I understand this is a Women’s Studies blog, believe me after writing for this blog for two semesters, I know.
However, I’d quickly like to share this NY Times Opinion piece by Nicholas D. Kristof of “Half The Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, ” along with two other articles on our recent budget crisis.
There is an ironic twist in all of this madness: Congress is exempt from having their incomes cut during a government shutdown.
Being in DC right now, the possibility (and I believe it will happen) of having a government shutdown, is important for all to be informed. Especially students. So if you are in the JMU bubble right now, pop it.
