Myth: A ragtag group of misfit feminists can’t make a difference in the blogosphere.

FALSE. When the bloggers of ShoutOut! JMU first assembled, we all had high hopes for the sort of posts we could make and also the readership that we would acquire. We did not foresee, however, the fact that our blog would gain such admiration among fellow feminists and loyal commenters. We also did not predict that we would reach over 9,000 total blog views over the course of the semester. The diverse set of posts that have been produced throughout the semester have kept the blog informative—not to mention entertaining and hilarious at times. I personally feel as though I have learned a significant amount about feminism in this past semester through research for my own posts and from reading other bloggers’ posts on this site.
I am very proud of our effort to raise consciousness about women’s issues on this blog and I hope to have the opportunity to be a part of such a dedicated, passionate group of people in the future. We have made a difference by putting our voices out in the world to be heard. MYTH BUSTED. I love you guys!
