It’s been all over the media. Ellen is talking about it. Sarah Silverman is talking about it. There’s even a post by our very own BlondeRedhead on the topic. I’d like to think that the whole world grieves the loss of these young lives, and yet there always seems to be a voice beckoning us back to bigotry.
That’s why Dan Savage rocks so hard.
A woman wrote in and used her religious beliefs as an excuse for her homophobia and said that Savage’s comments on the effect of the conservative bigotry on these teen suicides offended her (and, might I add, managed to do so while making a number of gross grammatical and spelling errors).
Savage responded. So of course the woman was, excuse the colloquialism, PWNED.
