One Final Post

Hello Friends,

The day has unfortunately come where I sadly have to formulate my thoughts into one last post. Read close to see my word vomit of feminist thoughts that I regretfully won’t be able to share with you in depth.

  1. When you think about feminism and gender equality, please don’t forget about those with non-binary identities. Talking about trans* and gender non-conforming identities is a passion of mine, and I think it’s important to recognize that we have not achieved gender equality until we have created equality for all genders.
  2. Going off of number one, please challenge yourself to think more intersectionally. This is super important because when I think about the world of feminism, there are so many individuals who don’t identify as male who face other levels of oppression, and they sometimes get left out of important feminist discussions. So let’s make sure we are being inclusive and accessible to everyone, to truly create gender equality.
  3. Don’t be afraid to have an opinion. By this I mean, it’s okay to disagree with people. To me, feminism is an adopted identity, and how you be an advocate is completely up to you. Because of this, your views on feminism could differ with other feminists, and that’s okay. Just don’t be afraid to stand your ground while also listening to the opposing view.
  4. I see Beyonce as a feminist.
  5. Get hype about feminism! Fighting for equality is great! It’s no easy road, but it’s the just one, and I think most people would agree that equal rights are pretty cool.
  6. It costs $0.00 to be a good person.

There are so many areas to feminism, and I implore you to find your niche. ShoutOut! has helped me to find my passion for making sure individuals who identify as non-binary are brought into discussions when talking about feminist topics.

As I regretfully write this last paragraph, I wanted to say thank you to anyone who’s ever read my posts, it’s not every day I get to shout out on ShoutOut!

  1. Wonderfully said. I think this wrap up really summarizes what is important to you, but also really gives readers a good way to figure out topics of feminism that might not be always represented.
