Okay so the hit TV show Sex and the City is undeniably loved by millions of woman (and men) across the nation; I mean, I catch myself watching the re-runs whenever flipping through channels. However, the fact that the E! channel is playing a Sex and the City marathon during this year’s Superbowl, definitely sends a sexist message in my eyes.
The typical sexist and annoying stereotype, “women don’t like sports and don’t know anything about them,” simply makes my blood boil. I’ll admit that I’m not the most sport-savvy person, but my roommate on the other hand—and many other women like her—beg to differ.
For example, she was the only female in a fantasy-football league and SHE won the league. Ill repeat, she was the only girl in a fantasy-football league, filled with men who THOUGHT they knew what they were doing, and SHE was the one who came out on top and with over 100 dollars.
With the E! channel assuming most women in America are not going to watch the Superbowl and would much rather watch a Sex and the City marathon, that ignorant assumption is supported.
So E!, since most of your audience members are females, it would be nice for you to empower us instead of confine us in the stereotypical boxes society tries to put us in.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I admit I am a huge Sex and the City fan, but E! News does not really focus on sports. A Sex and the City marathon is a bit presumptuous as most women enjoy sports and are viewers of the Superbowl. I doubt that many women are going to tune in, because as I said earlier they will be watching the Superbowl. I think E! News should just air regular programming. What do you think the E! Network should show today?

My thoughts exactly. I think that they should play what normally would play on a non-Superbowl Sunday. Why change it up? Not many people will be tuning in anyway
